Mark A. Richmond, MD is a board-certified Internal Medicine specialist with more than 30 years of experience. A lifelong Michigander, he grew up exploring the lakes, woods, and fields of Oakland County and Northern Michigan. He completed medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine and earned his Internal Medicine residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor.
After residency, Dr. Richmond and his wife Colleen moved their family to Petoskey, where he joined Burns Clinic. Over the next 25 years in private group practice, he provided on-call and inpatient care at Northern Michigan Hospital, in the office, and in nursing homes. He later joined McLaren Medical Group before choosing to return to private practice and co-found Docs by the Bay. Dr. Richmond places the doctor-patient relationship at the center of his clinical philosophy. He believes that genuine two-way communication and timely access to your physician form the foundation of effective care. He and Colleen have called Petoskey home for over 30 years.
