Dr. Mark Bickers is a lifelong Floyd County resident who pursued medicine from the ground up in southern Indiana. He earned his M.D. from IU School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville and a three-year fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease there as well, serving as chief fellow. He also served as associate faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Bickers spent more than 30 years in cardiology practice at FMH/BHF. He served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine twice, Chief of the Division of Cardiology three times, and Chief of Staff in 1996. Medicine runs in his family: his late father Dr. Everett Bickers practiced alongside him, and his son Dr. Mark Everett Bickers now practices internal medicine and pediatrics in Floyd's Knobs. At Concierge Care of Southern Indiana, Dr. Bickers returns to his roots in primary care and general internal medicine. He and his wife Bobbi have four grown children and nine grandchildren. He is a lifelong horseman and a devoted supporter of IU athletics.
