About
M Rameen Ghorieshi, MD, MPH founded Palo Alto Mind Body after a personal journey that reshaped his understanding of medicine. Growing up in Atlanta, he studied Applied Biology at Georgia Tech. Near the end of his undergraduate years, doctors diagnosed him with Crohn's Disease. He endured multiple surgeries, extended hospital stays, and took his graduation exams from a hospital bed. He returned to the hospital for four more weeks after graduation and deferred medical school by a year to recover. Those years as a patient gave him a firsthand sense of what it means to feel drained, frustrated, and overlooked in the healthcare system.
Dr. Ghorieshi earned his MD at Emory University School of Medicine and his MPH in behavioral sciences and health education from the Rollins School of Public Health. He completed his Psychiatry Residency at Stanford Hospital and Clinics and holds board certification in both Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine and holds medical staff privileges at Stanford Health Care. Dr. Ghorieshi was the first provider in the region to offer Spravato and has developed deep clinical expertise in its selection and application. He is passionate about whole-body health, addiction medicine, anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, suicidal ideation, and supporting patients who live with chronic or terminal illness. He founded Palo Alto Mind Body to build a psychiatric practice centered on compassion, meaningful connection, and time.
