Dr. Neal treats a broad range of conditions across family medicine. Her clinical focus includes chronic illness management, menopause care, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and pain management. She also provides preventive care, weight loss management, and hospice and palliative care coordination. Her dual board certifications in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine give her particular depth in both longevity-focused and end-of-life care.

Yes. Dr. Neal holds board certifications in both Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She earned those credentials after completing her residency at the University of Virginia and accumulating more than ten years of post-residency clinical experience.

Dr. Neal completed all of her formal training at the University of Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Architecture there, then her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Virginia as well, where she received the Anne L. Brodie Resident Clinician Award.

Dr. Neal has earned several recognitions throughout her career. During medical school, she earned selection into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. Her residency program honored her with the Anne L. Brodie Resident Clinician Award. The Daily Progress named her the 2021 Reader's Choice Award winner for Primary Care Physician, and Virginia Direct Primary Care earned the 2025 Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award under her leadership.

Yes. Dr. Neal offers a dedicated Home Visit Only membership for patients who need care at home. That membership includes three home visits per year, plus home health and hospice care coordination, phone and Zoom visits, and in-clinic visits for care transitions. Additional home visits are available for $100 each.

Yes. Dr. Neal holds board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, which positions her to coordinate hospice and palliative care for members and their families. She handles the associated coordination and paperwork directly, and her Home Visit Only membership specifically includes home health and hospice care coordination.

Dr. Neal built Virginia Direct Primary Care around relationship-based medicine. Her appointments run 30 to 60 minutes, giving her time to understand each patient as a whole person. Her dual certifications reflect a clinical philosophy that spans prevention and long-term wellness all the way through end-of-life care. More than ten years of post-residency practice have refined her approach to chronic illness and preventive medicine.

Dr. Neal performs a wide range of in-office procedures. These include simple suturing, mole and skin tag removal, skin biopsy, cryotherapy, ear wax removal, pap smears, IUD and Nexplanon removal, splinting, breathing treatments, EKG, and in-house blood draws. Patients rarely need to travel elsewhere for routine testing or minor procedures.
