About
Dr. Laura White serves as Medical Director of Future Hope Total Health and Future Hope Health Group in Shelbyville, KY. She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her pediatrics residency at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville in 1994. After residency, she spent more than a decade practicing primary care pediatrics across several communities in the greater Louisville area.
In 2008, Dr. White opened Future Hope Pediatrics with a focus on excellence in pediatric care. She has always taken a minimalist approach to medicine, trusting the body's resilience and favoring less intervention over more. Her own health crisis deepened her commitment to functional medicine. When conventional approaches left her without answers, she found lasting relief through nutrition and targeted supplementation. That experience led her to begin formal fellowship training through the Metabolic Medicine Institute and the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2016. She opened Future Hope Total Health in 2017 to serve both adults and children through a root-cause, holistic model. Dr. White holds certification as an EvexiPEL hormone pellet therapy provider. She is passionate about thyroid health, hormone optimization, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, postpartum depression, and chronic disease management. She and her husband Mark, an IFM Health Coach and ACE personal trainer, run the practice together.
