Dr. Katie Dunbar, DO, MPH, brings ten years of full-spectrum family medicine experience to Prairie Rose Family Medicine in Coralville, Iowa. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University-Nevada and her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Maternal, Child, Family Health from the University of Iowa. Her residency training took her to two rigorous programs: Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and Siouxland Medical Education Foundation in Sioux City, Iowa.

After residency, Dr. Dunbar practiced full-spectrum Family Medicine with Obstetrics in Madison, Wisconsin. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she relocated to Des Moines and served as the only Family Medicine physician in Indianola, Iowa with a primary focus on women's health. She returned to Cedar Rapids in 2022 and founded Prairie Rose Family Medicine. Dr. Dunbar first experienced the DPC model as a patient herself, and that experience shaped her decision to build her practice around it. She is passionate about evidence-based, relationship-driven care spanning women's health, chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and care for patients of all ages. Outside medicine, she enjoys Pilates, ballroom dance, gardening, cooking, reading, and cross-stitch. She lives with her husband Scott, their young son, two Golden Retrievers, and several cats and fish.
