Julian Javier, MD, FACC, FSCAI, holds board certifications in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease, and internal medicine. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Autonomous de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in 1986. He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Deaconess Hospital Saint Louis, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. He pursued fellowships in cardiovascular diseases at Saint Louis University Health Sciences and in interventional cardiology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also completed an early internship in surgery and emergency medicine at Hospital Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Javier serves as director of the Naples Cardiac and Endovascular Center and as medical director of Advance Research for Health Improvement. A pioneer in the radial access technique for heart catheterization, he also holds a patent for a hand-held vein removal device. He has accepted academic appointments at universities in Florida and Arkansas, authored book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and served as a principal investigator in clinical and drug trials. He has spoken at national and international conferences and earned numerous honors throughout his career. Outside medicine, Dr. Javier enjoys coaching youth soccer, traveling, and spending time with his wife, children, and two grandchildren.
