About

John Levinson, MD, PhD, founded AllCare Medical in 2001 and serves as its President. He earned a PhD in Genetics from Stanford in 1981 and his MD from Stanford Medical School in 1983. He completed internal medicine training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. His cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital followed in 1989. He holds board certification in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Levinson has served on the Harvard Medical School faculty and MGH cardiac unit since 1989. He stands as the sole remaining private cardiologist at MGH and one of the few private physicians in the entire MGH Department of Medicine. In 1988, he designed Statpage, an early electronic medical record using a relational database, and presented it at the American College of Cardiology's national meeting in 1991. He still uses it in daily practice. A founding board member of the American Society of Concierge Physicians, Dr. Levinson has lectured widely on alternative medical practice designs. Outside medicine, he enjoys surfing, especially in Costa Rica, and aviation.
