He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1988, then went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1992. He finished his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 1995, the same year he earned board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Warshaw spent his early career at Mt Lebanon Diagnostic Center with UPMC from 1996 to 2001, then at Mt Lebanon Internal Medicine from 2001 to 2007. During that time, he also served as a Staff Physician at St. Clair Hospital beginning in 1996. In 2008, he launched Premier Personal Healthcare, Pittsburgh's first concierge medical practice, to deliver deeply personal, relationship-driven internal medicine care.
