About
Dr. Jason Smith, DO, grew up in Katy, Texas and earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in 2000. He graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at San Antonio Military Medical Center in 2008. The Army brought him to central Texas, where he has lived and practiced since.
Dr. Smith served two deployments to Iraq as a brigade surgeon at small combat outposts near Baghdad. Back home, he managed the CRDAMC Emergency Department and taught as faculty in the emergency medicine residency program. He still mentors emergency medicine physicians today, and counts that work among his most rewarding professional experiences. In 2016, he opened PremiER ER & Urgent Care in Temple, Texas, where he continues as medical director. Treating thousands of central Texas patients in the ER sharpened his conviction that proactive care matters. He launched Optimal Concierge Medicine to act on that conviction, focusing on preventive and functional medicine. Now in his mid-40s and a lifelong adventure sports enthusiast, Dr. Smith personally lives the healthspan philosophy he brings to every patient.
