About
Jason Bailey, MD brings 27 years of medical experience to Wellspring MD, the Atlanta practice he co-founded with his wife Ranya Bailey. He earned his MD and completed his family medicine residency at Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine. Before that, he studied biophysics and philosophy at St. Francis Xavier University, a combination that shaped his root-cause approach to medicine.
Dr. Bailey holds board certification in family medicine in both Canada and the United States and earned his Fellowship from The College of Family Physicians of Canada. During his Canadian career, he served as medical director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at St. Joseph's Health Centre and taught residents and interns as an adjunct clinical professor at McMaster University's School of Medicine. He received awards for clinical excellence and patient safety through the Canadian Society of Hospital Medicine. His palliative care work included regular home visits, allowing patients to receive care on their own terms. He later completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine and now pursues a Certificate in Personalized Medicine at USF Morsani College of Medicine under Dr. Pamela Smith. Dr. Bailey is passionate about helping patients improve their healthspan, not just their lifespan, through proactive investigation into metabolic health, hormonal balance, cardiovascular risk, and cognitive function. Outside of medicine, he enjoys sailing, skiing, reading, and spending time with Ranya, their five children, and their granddaughter.
