Dr. James Okamoto is a board-certified family physician with more than 30 years of clinical experience. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in 1985. He then completed his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Nebraska, College of Medicine in 1992. His internship and residency in Family Medicine both took place at In His Image Family Medicine Residency in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he trained from 1992 through 1995. He holds a Diplomate certification from the American Board of Family Medicine.

Before opening his private practice in Waikele, Hawaii, Dr. Okamoto chaired a family medicine department on the mainland. He is passionate about preventing illness and educating patients to improve their health at every stage of life.
