About

Dr. Aya Sultan founded Honu Women's Health in Honolulu in 2015, bringing more than 20 years of experience in medicine and research. She earned her BS Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College, her PhD in Pharmacology Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland Baltimore, and her MD from UMDNJ-Newark Medical School, now Rutgers University. Her OB/GYN residency at the University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine included a term as Administrative Chief Resident. She then completed a clinical fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Stanford University, where she also served as a staff attending and clinical instructor while conducting ovarian cancer research. She holds board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2010 and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Sultan's clinical interests span gynecology, cosmetic gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, geriatric gynecology, and aesthetics. Endometriosis is a primary research focus for her. She is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and completed additional training in cosmetic laser and injectables through the National Laser Institute. Her PhD in Pharmacology guides her skin care recommendations and drug interaction evaluations. She also completed a Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
