Dr. Harika PalMD

Family Medicine

at Sona Via Health — New York, NY

About

Dr. Harika Pal founded Sona Via Health to practice medicine the way she believes it should work: investigative, unhurried, and rooted in prevention. She holds board certification in Family Medicine and brings more than 15 years of experience across some of New York's most rigorous clinical environments. Her medical training began at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, where she built a strong foundation in comprehensive primary care.

Dr. Pal deepened her training through the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine in Residency Program and earned certification as a practitioner through the Institute for Functional Medicine. Her career spans a wide range of roles: Family Physician at Montefiore Medical Center, serving diverse and often underserved communities; Medical Director at the Institute for Family Health, overseeing multiple NYC sites and training clinicians; and Functional Medicine Physician at Parsley Health. She specializes in hormone and metabolic health, gut and cardiometabolic conditions, inflammatory disorders, and chronic disease prevention. Her passion for prevention runs deep. Growing up, she watched loved ones navigate diabetes, early heart disease, and a kidney transplant, experiences that convinced her earlier intervention and better health literacy change outcomes. She has published in American Family Physician and led corporate wellness seminars focused on diabetes care. She co-founded the PurpLE Health Foundation, a nonprofit delivering trauma-informed care to survivors of gender-based violence, and served as its Board Chair. Outside the clinic, she explores NYC neighborhoods, visits theater and art spaces, reads fiction, tends to a collection of houseplants, and hikes when she can.
