About

Frank G. Ditz, MD brings a training history that few family physicians can match. He earned his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo on a Regents Academic scholarship. Before medical school, he spent a year working as an Industrial Hygienist Environmental Consultant and conducting nephrology research at SUNY Buffalo. He then earned a full academic scholarship to the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, along with a direct Congressional appointment as an Air Force Officer.

Dr. Ditz completed his Family Medicine residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, affiliated with the University of California, Davis. His Air Force career spanned 1987 to 2001 and included service in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He served three years at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, where the Japanese medical system selected him as the only American physician permitted to treat patients alongside doctors at the University of the Riyukus Medical Center. He attended flight school at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas, graduated as a distinguished Flight Surgeon, and earned 9G certification to fly fighter aircraft. He created and commanded the first Air Transportable Emergency Medical Unit capable of deploying anywhere in the world within 24 hours. He also developed a smoking cessation program in Saudi Arabia that the Army, Navy, and Air Force all adopted. Dr. Ditz holds board certification in Family Medicine and is a certified BioTE® Provider. He lectures nationally and locally on topics including hypertension, diabetes, depression, insomnia, and asthma. He left the Air Force in 2001 to open his own practice in Suntree, where he has served the community for over 15 years. He is married to attorney Eve Bouchard Ditz and is the father of three children.
