Dr. Elizabeth Farley Prater is a board-certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where her classmates elected her to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Medical Society as a junior. She began her residency training at the joint program between the University of Texas at Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She finished as Chief Resident at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
After residency, Dr. Prater joined Texas Dermatology Associates in Dallas, treating thousands of patients with complex skin conditions. She also focused on resident education at Baylor during that time. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2013 and has served as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center ever since. Dr. Prater co-authored multiple Joint AAD-NPF psoriasis guidelines published in 2019 and 2020, and she participated in the International Psoriasis Council Future Leaders Program. She received a Women's Dermatologic Mentorship Award focused on lichen sclerosis in 2011. Her clinical interests span severe inflammatory skin disease, skin cancer, alopecia, and the role diet and lifestyle play in skin health. Outside the clinic, she is a mother of three and enjoys running, yoga, and her children's soccer games.
