Dr. Elizabeth KozlowskiDO

Family Medicine

at Kozmic Care — East Lansing, MI

About

Dr. Elizabeth Kozlowski grew up immersed in medicine. Her mother worked as a neonatal ICU nurse before becoming a midwife. Her father practiced as an Osteopathic family doctor. She graduated in the top 10% of her class from Haslett High School, then earned a Mathematics degree from Albion College while playing basketball and softball. She attended the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine/Midwestern University for her medical degree and completed her family medicine residency as Chief Resident at McLaren Hospital.

Her early career included six months working alongside Dr. Michael Maser in his OB/GYN practice, followed by a role at McLaren's family medicine residency clinic. She served as an associate professor at Michigan State University's Osteopathic Medical School, teaching physical examination skills, and directed the family medicine residency program at McLaren Hospital in Lansing. She spent 15 years at Capital Internal Medicine Associates caring for families and training students. Her collaboration with dermatologist Dr. Greg Messenger spans much of her career; she ran his acne clinic for five years early on and has recently resumed working alongside him. She holds board certification in addiction medicine, a specialty shaped by both personal experience and deep clinical study. Dr. Kozlowski is passionate about Osteopathic manipulation, alternative medicine, and exploring diverse healing techniques. Outside the office, she gardens, raises three children, Ambrose, Nandi, and Naomi, and leads a non-profit medical mission in Jamaica. In November 2025, she traveled to Jamaica for three weeks to provide hurricane relief and emergency medical care.
