About
Dr. Elinora Madrid grew up on a coffee plantation in rural Honduras, came to the United States at age 12 as a political refugee, and entered high school without speaking English. She graduated Valedictorian and earned a full-ride scholarship to Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. She received the Nancy M. S. Air Force Health Professions scholarship, earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Dr. Madrid completed her residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at UCLA. During residency, she moonlighted at Urgent Care 3D, where longer patient visits reshaped her thinking about medicine. She later pursued post-graduate education at Harvard University's Institute of Lifestyle Medicine and earned board certification through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine in 2020. A brain aneurysm survivor, she returned to medical school less than a year after her bleed and passed all board exams post-stroke. In 2018, lifestyle interventions helped her daughter recover from severe in-utero growth restriction, cementing her commitment to this field. She has practiced outpatient clinical medicine since 2017, ran a marathon in 2016, completed a triathlon in 2017, and is a mom of two. Her clinical passions include chronic disease reversal, nutrition, sleep medicine, longevity, women's health, and cardiometabolic health.
