About
David K. D. brings an unusually deep academic foundation to his concierge practice on Michigan Avenue. He graduated with Honors from the University of Illinois College of Engineering, majoring in Material Science Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where he held a quarter-time spine research position and founded the Medical Student Ambassador Program in 1993. That program remains a core student organization at Iowa today. The university awarded him the Hancher Finkbine Medallion at graduation, its highest honor. His training also included a Pathology Externship offering an additional year of intensive study in the pathologic basis of disease, and an Oxford Clerkship at Green College, Oxford University, where he studied Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at John Radcliffe Hospital in England.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital appointed him faculty in 2001, where he served as Assistant Professor of Medicine for 13 years, teaching at both NMH and Feinberg School of Medicine. He has contributed chapters to Rosen's Textbook of Emergency Medicine, Adam's Textbook of Emergency Medicine, and Practical Teaching in Emergency Medicine. Since 2001, major outlets including NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America, and The Oprah Winfrey Show have called on him for expert medical commentary. He moved to private concierge practice in July 2013 and continues limited teaching at Feinberg School of Medicine and the Department of Emergency Medicine.
