Dr. David Lewis grew up in Port Angeles, Washington, and returned to the Pacific Northwest after completing his training. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Washington in 2006, spent a year with AmeriCorps, then completed a Master of Arts in Education at Pacific Lutheran University. He went on to attend Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington.

Dr. Lewis completed a combined residency at St. John Macomb/Oakland Hospital outside Detroit, spending two years in emergency medicine followed by two years in family practice.
