Dale J. D. grew up in Anchorage, graduated from East Anchorage High School, and attended Alaska Methodist University before earning his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1974. He completed his Family Practice residency in Dearborn, Michigan, where he was selected as Chief Resident in his final year. After residency, he served two years with the United States Public Health Service as a physician in a medical shortage area in rural western Iowa.
Dr. Trombley returned to Anchorage in 1979 and has practiced family medicine there ever since. He served as a physician with the United States Air National Guard at Kulis ANG base, including during Desert Storm, and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel before honorably separating in the late 1990s. His clinical experience spans obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, newborn care, geriatrics, and internal medicine. He holds certification for all classes of FAA examinations and for DOT examinations. He has served as chairman of the Department of Family Practice at both Alaska Regional Hospital and Providence Hospital, and holds membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Private Physicians. In 2015, the Alaska Journal of Commerce covered his transition to concierge medicine. He is married, has three sons, and an increasing number of grandchildren.
