About
Dr. Cynthia Villacis is a board-certified family physician with over 20 years of clinical experience. She completed her Family Medicine residency in 2002 and later earned board certifications in both Lifestyle Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She also holds certification as a Life Coach and serves as a USCIS-designated civil surgeon.
Dr. Villacis grew up surrounded by community advocacy. Her grandfathers were American Baptist ministers and her mother worked in social services. From an early age, she encountered women's health programs, domestic violence shelters, and community mental health services. Those experiences shaped her conviction that health connects directly to dignity, safety, and education. She learned Spanish during a 1988 exchange program in Ecuador, where she also met her husband, and her commitment to immigrant families has remained central to her practice ever since. She brings personal experience with weight, blood sugar, stress, and sleep to her work with patients navigating metabolic health. Her clinical approach seeks root causes through the six pillars of lifestyle medicine: nutrition, sleep, stress, movement, connection, and substance reduction. She is passionate about women's health, metabolic health, mental health, and immigrant health, and she serves a diverse community including LGBTQ+ individuals and Spanish-speaking families.
