About
Dr. Caitlin Giesler is a board-certified cardiologist with a focused practice in women's cardiovascular health. She earned a BA in Biochemistry from The University of Texas before attending McGovern Medical School at UT Houston. She completed both her residency and cardiology fellowship at The University of Cincinnati. Dr. Giesler has practiced in Austin since 2008.
A personal loss set the course for her clinical focus. Her father died of a heart attack during her final year of medical school. That experience drove her to research women's cardiovascular risk, advocate for better recognition of female heart disease patterns, and educate patients and clinicians alike. As a mother now navigating midlife herself, she understands the biological and social changes women face across a lifetime. She is passionate about conditions that disproportionately affect women: Microvascular Disease, Endothelial Dysfunction, Vasospasm, MINOCA/ANOCA, SCAD, atrial fibrillation, and menopause-related cardiovascular shifts. Dr. Giesler builds individualized assessments and treatment plans grounded in science. She also reaches broader audiences through her YouTube and Instagram platforms, where she educates on women's heart health.
