Dr. Kerry Rhodes grew up in Lubbock, Texas, where his parents taught at both the primary and collegiate levels. Watching his own family physician address every dimension of a patient's health inspired him to pursue medicine. S. in Biology from Lubbock Christian University before attending the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, graduating in 1990. He then completed his Family Medicine residency at the Central Texas Medical Foundation in Austin in 1993 and has called Austin home ever since.
Dr. Rhodes holds board certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, teaching the next generation of physicians. He holds membership in the American Academy of Family Practice, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society. His clinical passions include wellness and prevention, cardiovascular risk, chronic disease management, nutrition, fitness, lifestyle management, mental and emotional health, cancer detection, and sleep health. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his wife Kris and their children. He also volunteers with the Volunteer Health Clinic and participates in medical missions.
