About
Dr. Cady Brown is a board-certified internist and co-founder of Downtown Drs. Brown. A native Lexingtonian, she grew up downtown and later on a farm in Versailles, KY. She studied East Asian History at Davidson College and played varsity soccer before a study-abroad program in China redirected her toward medicine. That program, focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine, sparked a clinical curiosity she carries into practice today. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, where she also served as Chief Resident. She holds additional training through a Program in Public Health and Traditional Chinese Medicine and holds certification as a Clinical Densitometrist alongside her American Board of Internal Medicine certification.
Dr. Brown spent approximately seven years in private practice primary care before co-founding Downtown Drs. Brown with her husband, Dr. Ryan Brown. Her clinical approach centers on the whole patient, integrating mental health, wellness, and prevention alongside traditional internal medicine. She maintains an open mind toward holistic and alternative treatments. Away from the office, she runs downtown, gardens, cooks, and visits her parents' farm with her children, Nettie and Chet.
