Dr. Byron Haney brings more than three decades of family medicine experience to Polaris Medical. He studied Biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, and completed his Family Medicine Residency in Modesto, California.
In 1990, Dr. Haney founded Family Health Care of Ellensburg, growing it into one of Washington State's most successful independent primary care practices. He delivered babies and rounded on the inpatient ward at Kittitas Valley Hospital, where he also served as Chief of Staff and Family Medicine Department Chair. He taught as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Pacific Northwest University and served as a principal investigator in multiple clinical trials. In 2019, he converted his outpatient practice into CompassDirect Healthcare, a direct primary care model. He holds board certification in Family Medicine and focuses on patient-centered, evidence-based care with a particular interest in shared medical appointments and collaborative care models. Outside medicine, he enjoys time with his family and church community.
