About
Dr. Blake McGowan brings more than 20 years of family medicine experience to My Personal Physician. A San Antonio native, he graduated from Churchill High School before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, then trained at the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program, where he was selected as Chief Resident.
After completing his training, Dr. McGowan moved to Arkansas and joined his father's large group family practice, where he spent 15 years. His father practiced family medicine for over 50 years, and that legacy shaped Dr. McGowan's conviction that a strong relationship with a true family doctor is the most effective way to meet the challenges of modern healthcare. He later opened his own concierge practice and spent five years in that model before returning to San Antonio. He is a father of two young daughters and a devoted family man. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, live music, and cheering on the Texas Longhorns.
