Dr. Peffley completed his internship at Naval Hospital Bremerton before spending two years as the general medical officer aboard the USS RAINIER (AOE 7). He returned to Naval Hospital Bremerton in 2003 to finish his Family Medicine residency and earned board certification in Family Medicine in 2005. His Navy career took him to Kuwait, Rhode Island, and eventually Cuba, where he deployed in 2015-16 with Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay. He later promoted to Captain (O6) and completed a four-year assignment as Navy Reserve Family Medicine Specialty Leader. He resigned his commission as LCDR in 2007 and relocated his family to Dallas, Oregon to open what became DocPeff Primary Care. Outside the clinic, Dr. Peffley is an avid University of Oregon Ducks fan. He and his wife Heather, whom he married in 1995, have four children. He is also known for designing birthday cakes for his kids and, notably, served as the Oregon Duck mascot during the 1991-92 and 1993-94 seasons.
