She then completed her Primary Care Internal Medicine residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She also holds a Master of Public Health in Tropical Medicine from Johns Hopkins University.

She practiced medicine on both coasts before returning to Colorado in 2015 and opening The Golden Stethoscope in 2017.
