Wellspring Direct Care

Membership fees follow an age-based scale. The monthly rate is $45 for ages 4 to 18, $70 for ages 19 to 34, $85 for ages 35 to 64, and $99 for ages 65 and older. A single household of up to six people pays a maximum of $280 per month. Wellspring also offers prepayment discounts at 3, 6, and 12-month intervals, and a $75 one-time registration fee applies per household for new members joining together.

Wellspring does not bill insurance for membership or care provided. The monthly fee covers comprehensive primary care with no copays. Dr. Ellis encourages members to keep insurance for hospitalizations, specialist visits, imaging, or surgeries. Labs through Labcorp and wholesale generic medications are available at sharply discounted direct prices, often below insurance-adjusted rates.

Yes. Wellspring prioritizes same-day and next-day availability for members. Appointments run 60 minutes, and the practice keeps the panel intentionally small to minimize wait times. After-hours guidance for urgent concerns is also available by phone, text, or video.

Wellspring is currently near panel capacity and maintains a waiting list. com or call (205) 248-7537 Monday through Thursday. The practice will send an enrollment link to collect your health history and demographics. Acceptance is reviewed before any charges apply. College student memberships remain generally open.

Yes. Dr. Ellis offers telemedicine visits for members. Wednesday afternoons are reserved exclusively for virtual appointments. Members can also reach Dr. Ellis through the Spruce app for messaging and after-hours guidance.

Yes. Wellspring sees children ages four and older who have completed their four-year-old vaccine series. Sick care is available for member children of any age. The age-based membership fee for children is $45 per month.

Yes. Wellspring works with employers to provide cost-effective primary care benefits. Dr. Ellis conducts site visits to understand a company's specific needs and can arrange periodic on-site care options. Employer plans can be fully employer-funded, cost-shared, or payroll-deducted by employees.

Yes. Wellspring dispenses many generic medications directly from the office at wholesale prices. This often costs less than filling a prescription at a pharmacy, and members avoid long pharmacy wait times.

Yes. Dr. Ellis treats depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic disorder, OCD, and ADHD for established patients. The practice also accepts new mental health consult patients by referral from trusted mental health colleagues. A separate category membership applies for mental health consult care.
