About
Dr. Tina Alster founded the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery in 1990. It was the world's first private practice devoted exclusively to laser skin treatments. The institute remains at the forefront of cosmetic dermatology and technological innovation. Its physicians helped pioneer treatments like Fraxel, Botox, and CoolSculpting through clinical trials. The practice operates from a distinctive building in Washington, DC, designed by architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen.
Today, two board-certified dermatologists lead the institute. Dr. Tina Alster and Dr. Nina Hartman combine deep clinical expertise with advanced technology. They provide a wide range of medical and cosmetic services. The practice offers procedures like laser resurfacing, injectables, and body contouring. The team also develops personalized skincare regimens for patients. They use medical-grade products, including Dr. Alster's proprietary A Method® line.
