Waiola Direct Care

Waiola Direct Care uses age-based monthly tiers. Keiki (ages 0-17) pay $49 per month. Young Adults (18-34) pay $129 per month. Adults (35-64) pay $149 per month. Kupuna members (65 and older) pay $169 per month. A one-time $130 enrollment fee applies to all new members. The practice also offers special pricing for active-duty military, veterans, first responders, and families with more than four members.

Waiola Direct Care does not bill or interact with insurance companies for membership services. Members pay a flat monthly fee directly to the practice. You may still carry insurance for hospitalizations, specialist visits, or other needs outside the practice. Dr. McMurry has formally opted out of Medicare.

Members can contact Dr. McMurry by phone, text, or email, including after hours. The practice also offers video telemedicine visits. Same-day and next-day appointments cover most urgent needs, and the extended appointment format means Dr. McMurry has time to address concerns thoroughly.

Membership covers a wide range of services at no additional charge. These include acute and non-acute office visits, preventive care, annual wellness exams, chronic disease management, telehealth visits, EKGs, spirometry, wound care, joint injections, IUD removals, rapid strep and mono tests, basic vision testing, and the medical weight loss program. Members also receive access to wholesale pricing on labs, imaging, and medications.

Yes. Waiola Direct Care partners with employers to provide DPC benefits for their teams. Employers who incorporate DPC into their benefits plans have reported 53% fewer ER visits, a 16% decrease in hospitalization days, a 58% decrease in specialist visits, and a 77% decrease in surgeries. FSA integration is available for qualifying employer plans.

Yes. The practice serves patients from newborns through geriatric adults. Dr. McMurry provides newborn care, well-child visits, school and sports physicals, well-woman care, and care for older adults. The Keiki membership tier starts at $49 per month for children 17 and under.

Yes. The practice offers specialty exam services to the broader community, not just members. Available exams include FAA flight physicals, commercial and recreational dive physicals, CDL and DOT exams, Coast Guard Merchant Mariner certificates, OSHA HAZMAT and HAZWOPER physicals, USCIS immigration evaluations, and VA Disability DBQ assessments.

Waiola Direct Care offers Blomdahl medical ear piercing as a standalone service for $100 plus Hawaii GE Tax. Blomdahl uses medical-grade plastic and surgical titanium to eliminate the nickel allergy risk common with standard piercings. The service includes pre-visit counseling, the procedure, studs, and post-procedure care instructions. Only trained medical professionals perform Blomdahl piercings.
