About

At Progressive Health Project, three physicians share a mission to prevent and reverse the leading causes of death and disability. The practice operates two locations in Delaware, serving patients in Wilmington and Newark. Five board-certified lifestyle medicine providers work across the practice, making it the only Lifestyle Medicine practice in Delaware.

Dr. David Donohue, Dr. Deborah Zarek, and Dr. Jayshree Tailor each hold board certification in Internal Medicine. The team builds care around three pillars: personalization, prevention, and empowerment. Their clinical programs go well beyond routine primary care. Dr. Donohue created the Cure Diabetes Program, a group-based science-backed approach to reversing type 2 diabetes. The practice also runs an Ornish-based Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program, a Successful Aging Program, and a Fitness Lab staffed by clinical exercise physiologists. The Be Well monthly support group welcomes non-patients. A whole foods plant-based diet plays a central role in how the team approaches chronic disease.
