Poppy Direct Care

Poppy Direct Care charges a flat monthly fee of $100 with no copays for visits. A one-time non-refundable booking fee of $100 applies to the first visit, and the practice requires a minimum three-month enrollment period. Family discounts are available. Members who need more intensive support can add the Eating Concerns or Advanced Coordinated Care programs for an additional $200 per month each.

Poppy Direct Care operates outside of insurance for membership fees and visits. However, the practice can send lab orders through your insurance or offer a discounted cash price. Members with HSA accounts can use those funds for membership fees. The practice cannot see patients with Medicare or Tricare due to government restrictions, but can see Medicaid patients, though it cannot bill Medicaid for visits.

Members receive unlimited visits with no copays, 30-minute appointments, same-day and next-day urgent access, and Dr. Holt's cell number for direct texting. The membership also includes deeply discounted prescriptions dispensed on-site at wholesale prices, discounted lab draws through Labcorp, Quest, or CPL, and rapid in-office tests for strep, mono, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy. Telehealth visits are also available.

Yes. Poppy Direct Care offers telemedicine visits for members. Patients can book appointments online, or call or text the practice directly to arrange a visit.

Prospective patients can self-enroll through the practice website. Poppy also offers a free 15-minute meet-and-greet, either by phone or in person at 812 Hillary Street, for anyone who wants to learn more before committing. The practice recommends reviewing the FAQ section on the website before scheduling a first visit.

Yes. The Advanced Coordinated Care Add-On exists specifically for members managing complex conditions such as Long Covid, hypermobility syndromes, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. This add-on provides more frequent visits, intensive diagnostic work, and coordination with outside specialists. It costs an additional $200 per month on top of the standard membership.

Yes. The Eating Concerns Add-On provides outpatient medical management for adults with active or recent eating disorders, or those experiencing disordered eating concerns. Dr. Holt developed her expertise in this area through her work on the Eating Concerns Team at Tulane Campus Health. The add-on includes multidisciplinary care coordination and costs an additional $200 per month.

Yes. Each spring, Poppy hosts free Tuesday evening STI testing clinics offering rapid tests for HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C. These clinics run in partnership with the Byja Charitable Alliance and the New Orleans Health Department and are volunteer-operated. The practice also runs free birth control consultation clinics on Thursday evenings in the spring through its Planned Parenting at Poppy program. No proof of eligibility is required for either clinic.

Yes. Non-members can book a one-time visit for $200, which includes one follow-up visit within 30 days if needed. Labs and prescriptions may go through insurance or use the practice's cash-pay option. The practice also offers DiamondGlow medical-grade facials to non-members for $175.

Poppy Direct Care sits at 812 Hillary Street in uptown New Orleans, right off the St. Charles streetcar line. The clinic is within walking distance of Tulane and Loyola University. The practice operates five days a week and closes on major holidays.
