About
At Los Angeles Integrative Gastroenterology & Nutrition, Dr. Farshid Sam Rahbar and Dr. Dipti Sagar bring together gastroenterology, functional medicine, and integrative disciplines under one practice. Dr. Rahbar founded the Century City practice in February 2009. He built it around a whole-person philosophy that draws on both Eastern and Western medicine. The practice has grown to include a collaboration with Dr. Dipti Sagar and, more recently, a precision genomics partnership with Dr. Mimansa MD through Mimansa Longevity.
The clinical scope here runs well beyond standard GI care. The practice performs colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and capsule endoscopy using the 360-degree CapsoCam Plus system. It offers Heidelberg pH testing, one of a handful of facilities nationwide to do so. SIBO breath testing uses the QuinTron analyzer. The Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test screens for more than 50 cancer types. Nutrition, hormone optimization, gut microbiome work, and environmental medicine round out the offering. Patients can access care through in-office visits, telemedicine, or VIP house calls when medically appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions
The 12-month Membership Program costs $1,500. It enrolls patients under Dr. Rahbar as a Treating Physician, meaning ongoing care rather than a single consultation. Members receive a $50 discount on each follow-up visit of 30 minutes or more, along with priority and flexible scheduling. The membership fee does not cover medical evaluations, diagnostics, or therapeutics, which the practice bills separately. The practice does not offer refunds but does allow cancellation within 72 hours of enrollment.
No. The practice offers two models of care. Patients who want Dr. Rahbar as an ongoing Treating Physician enroll in the Membership Program. Patients who prefer a one-time or consultative relationship can see him as a Consulting Physician with no membership required. The Consulting Physician model works well for patients who want a focused evaluation without committing to ongoing enrollment.
LA Integrative Gastroenterology & Nutrition does not contract with insurance for its membership and consultation fees. Dr. Rahbar opted out of Medicare as of April 1, 2023. The practice no longer submits claims to Medicare or provides superbills for Medicare patients. Prospective patients should plan to pay out of pocket for membership and analytical services.
Yes. The practice offers telemedicine consultations by phone or video for both new and established patients. New patient telemedicine consultations are available at a set fee. For patients who qualify, the practice also provides VIP house calls and ELITE concierge services with individually customized fees, available when medically justified and proximity allows.
The practice performs colonoscopy, upper endoscopy (EGD), and capsule endoscopy using the 360-degree CapsoCam Plus system. It offers SIBO intestinal breath testing with the QuinTron analyzer, Heidelberg pH testing, anorectal manometry, ARM biofeedback for pelvic floor dysfunction, and the Rectal Expulsion Device test. The practice also offers the Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test, which screens for more than 50 cancer types from a single blood draw.
Yes. Nutrition is a core part of the practice's clinical model. The team provides comprehensive nutritional assessments, customized nutrition recommendations, food allergy and sensitivity testing, nutraceutical supplement guidance, and elemental diet protocols. The practice also partners with holistic nutritionist Annie McRae, a graduate of the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London, for diet and lifestyle education.
The practice offers an online lab ordering service that allows individuals to self-order labs even before becoming a patient. Anyone using this service acknowledges they are self-directing their care and agrees to the practice's terms. Current patients under the care of LA Integrative GI are the primary audience for this service, but outside individuals may use it as well.
Yes. The practice runs several discount programs, including a Valued Citizens Discount, a Family Discount, and an Incentive Discount. Patients who complete registration forms and intake paperwork online before their visit also receive reduced fees on certain consultation types. Contact the practice directly to learn which programs apply to your situation.
The practice offers a 6-month Membership Program at $1,100 in addition to the 12-month plan at $1,500. For patients who want the highest level of direct access, the ELITE Concierge and Personalized Physician Program carries individually customized fees discussed after an initial visit. That program includes direct physician access and house call services when medically appropriate. Membership spots are limited and the practice evaluates each case individually.
Yes. The practice structures its membership model specifically to support patients with ongoing or complex conditions. Members receive priority scheduling and discounted follow-up visits. The practice also recognizes that most patients need professional and administrative support between visits, and the membership program helps sustain that level of access. Patients with the most intensive needs can explore the ELITE Concierge Program for direct physician availability.
