About
At Honolulu Dermatology LLC, Dr. Amber Gill delivers general and cosmetic dermatology care to Hawaii residents and visitors. She founded the practice around 2016 and now enters her tenth year of independent operation. Every appointment is with Dr. Gill herself, a board-certified dermatologist.
The practice operates on a direct-pay model, which lets Dr. Gill prioritize thorough care, clear communication, and on-time appointments. Each visit runs three times longer than a typical dermatology appointment. Dr. Gill handles most treatments the same day, reducing the need for follow-up visits. The office sits on the second floor of the Kahala Office Tower near Kahala Mall, with free parking and easy access from Waikiki, Ala Moana, Kaka'ako, and Downtown Honolulu. Virtual appointments are available via FaceTime or video link for patients across Oahu.

Frequently Asked Questions
A new patient appointment at Honolulu Dermatology costs $250 plus Hawaii General Excise Tax. This fee includes in-office testing and most minor procedures performed the same day, such as biopsies, precancerous spot treatments, skin tag removals, wart treatments, and skin care consultations. Cosmetic mole removals, cyst removals, and cosmetic treatments like Botox and microneedling carry additional charges listed on the services page.
Honolulu Dermatology does not accept insurance and operates outside all insurance networks. However, most local PPO-type plans reimburse for medically necessary out-of-network services. Many patients receive $100 to $150 back for an initial visit and $80 to $120 for a follow-up after meeting their annual deductible. The practice prepares reimbursement claim forms for HMSA PPO, UHA PPO, Mainland Blue Cross or Blue Shield PPO/POS, BC/BS Federal Employee Program PPO, and AFL Hotel & Restaurant Workers Trust Fund PPO.
Yes. Honolulu Dermatology provides itemized receipts for FSA, HSA, and HRA accounts upon request. Ask for a detailed receipt after your appointment to submit to your account administrator.
New patients must book through the online booking system on the practice website. Existing patients may book online or by phone and text. All patients must prepay for their appointment type at the time of booking. Cosmetic treatments require prepayment as well, and that prepayment applies to the treatment cost if the procedure takes place the same day.
Patients who cancel before 4 PM the day before their appointment receive a full refund minus a 3% card processing fee. Cancellations or no-shows after that cutoff result in a charge of $100 for new patients, $75 for existing patients, or $200 for microneedling or filler appointments. This policy applies regardless of circumstance.
Yes. The practice offers virtual appointments via FaceTime or a video link. Dr. Gill initiates a FaceTime call at the scheduled time to the mobile number on file. Patients without an iPhone should contact the office in advance to receive a video link instead.
Appointments at Honolulu Dermatology run three times longer than a typical dermatology visit. The practice also runs on time. That combination gives Dr. Gill meaningful time with each patient without the long waits common in standard dermatology offices.
