About

At HELPcare Clinic, Dr. David Strobel and his team deliver family medicine, preventive care, and metabolic health coaching through an affordable membership model. Lee Aase and Dr. Strobel, high school classmates from Austin, Minnesota, conceived the clinic over coffee in October 2019. HELPcare Clinic Austin opened February 2022 with 151 Founding Members, and the practice has more than tripled its membership since then. The clinic now operates locations in Austin, Rochester, and Albert Lea, Minnesota.

The practice runs three membership tiers starting at $19 per month, giving patients flexible options for primary and preventive care. Standard appointments run one hour, and the practice offers same-day visits and telemedicine. Premier members access unlimited visits, more than 100 lab tests at no extra charge, minor procedures, and coaching sessions. An on-site dispensary stocks acute medications for member convenience. The HELPcare Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides partial membership scholarships for low-income patients and interpreter services for those who need them. Dr. Dawn Jacobson serves as a specialist provider at the Rochester location, bringing board certification in Preventive Medicine and Functional Medicine alongside training in integrative and Ayurvedic medicine.
