Grounded Serpent Family Practice

Individual membership at Grounded Serpent Family Practice costs $125 per month. Families pay $100 per adult and $50 per child. Students and medical residents qualify for a reduced rate of $50 per month. The practice also offers discounts and scholarships for patients with ME/CFS or Long COVID who need financial assistance. A Patreon account allows supporters to help fund care for patients who cannot afford membership.

The monthly fee covers all standard costs of care, including visits, telehealth appointments, house calls, in-house lab draws, and between-visit communication by text or email. Dr. Brown does not bill insurance. There is no sign-up fee and no fee to cancel. Certain procedures, point-of-care tests, and specialty diagnostics may carry additional supply costs.

Grounded Serpent charges no fee to cancel a membership. However, patients who end their membership and later want to return pay a re-enrollment fee of $300. There is no cost to sign up as a new patient for the first time.

Yes. Members contact Dr. Brown directly by text or email at no additional charge. She provides a patient-only phone number that connects directly to her cell phone. All communications through that line upload automatically to the patient chart.

Yes. Dr. Brown conducts telehealth visits and makes house calls, both at no extra cost beyond the monthly membership fee. She holds licenses in Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, which allows her to see patients remotely across all three states. The practice also designs visit formats to accommodate ME/CFS patients, including shorter visit times and reduced paperwork burden.

ME/CFS and Long COVID treatment sit at the center of what Dr. Brown does. She estimates that roughly 1 in 150 Americans meet criteria for ME/CFS, with 90% going undiagnosed. She offers comprehensive treatment as well as standalone ME/CFS disability evaluations for $800, with payment plans available. The evaluation includes chart review, documentation, and a physical exam.

Yes. Dr. Brown holds group appointments via Google Meet for patients who want a shared learning and support format. The practice also hosts a moderated patient and caregiver community through a platform called Greenlamp, which a clinician oversees.

Yes. Current members who refer a friend receive a $25 monthly discount for 12 months per successful referral. The discount applies for each new member they bring in.
