About

At Frontier Direct Care, four physicians deliver family medicine, primary care, and urgent care to working Texans through an employer-sponsored direct primary care model. Dr. Peter Lazzopina founded the practice in Harlingen in 2018, starting with little more than a shared office, a massage table, and a picnic table. From that start, the practice has grown to serve 20,000 members across Texas through 10 near-site clinics.

Frontier operates a three-part solution suite. Frontier Direct Care handles primary care with no co-pays or deductibles. Frontier Direct Pay contracts specialty care at roughly half of traditional in-network PPO costs. Frontier Rx delivers over 1,000 generic medications to members at $0 cost, with 90-day supplies shipped directly to the home through Manifest Pharmacy. Employers who partner with Frontier see an average 12 to 18 percent reduction in healthcare spend. The practice earned a Net Promoter Score of 94 to 95, and Inc. 5000 ranked Frontier #464 on its 2025 list of fastest-growing private companies.
