About

At Delta Health and Wellness in Lewes, Delaware, Dr. Stacey Kuhfahl delivers internal medicine and preventive care to adults on her own terms. She founded the practice after relocating to coastal Delaware in 2020. Her background spans hospital medicine, academic teaching, and a decade of insurance advocacy work.

Dr. Kuhfahl runs the practice solo, without a secretary or nurse. Patients receive her cell phone number for urgent after-hours needs. Initial appointments run two hours, giving her time to build a thorough clinical picture. The practice keeps an in-office pharmacy stocked with medications, and membership includes EKGs, cryotherapy, urinalysis, and rapid testing for common illnesses. Members also access highly discounted rates on routine and functional medicine laboratory panels. Dr. Kuhfahl takes a holistic approach to insomnia, pain, and anxiety, and does not prescribe controlled substances for those conditions.

No. Delta Health and Wellness operates as an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. The practice works particularly well alongside high-deductible health plans paired with a health savings account.

Yes. Medicare patients need to sign a waiver stating that neither the patient nor the practice will bill Medicare directly for membership services. Medicare still covers laboratory testing, imaging, prescription medications, specialty care, and hospitalizations that Dr. Kuhfahl orders.

Dr. Kuhfahl does not prescribe sleeping medications such as Ambien, Lunesta, or Sonata. She takes a holistic approach to insomnia, anxiety, and pain management. The in-office pharmacy also does not stock any controlled substances. Patients currently taking these medications would need another provider to continue or taper those prescriptions.

Delta Health and Wellness currently accepts new patients through a waiting list. com to join the list. Dr. Kuhfahl will arrange a complimentary meet-and-greet when her schedule opens. The current wait time for new patient appointments runs several weeks.

Your first appointment is a thorough two-hour initial history and physical examination with Dr. Kuhfahl. That time lets her build a complete picture of your health history, current concerns, and long-term goals. Same-day and next-day sick visits are also available to members after enrollment.
