About

At Boulder Internal Medicine, three physicians deliver preventive and internal medicine care through the practice's Advanced Prevention Program (APP). Dr. William Blanchet brought the practice to Boulder in 1986 and opened his own office in 1998. He launched the APP in 2009 alongside John Campbell, building a structured approach to catching disease early. Dr. Amy O. Campbell joined the practice in 2012, and Dr. Jennifer Johnson came on board in 2019. Together, the team covers internal medicine, women's health, cardiology, diabetes, osteoporosis, and integrative medicine. APP membership includes a suite of imaging screenings: an Ultrafast Dual Source CT Heart Scan, CT Lung Scan, CT-BMD of the Thoracic Spine, and carotid, aortic, thyroid, renal, and pelvic ultrasound screenings. The practice keeps its panel intentionally limited. That allows longer appointment slots, minimal wait times, and reliable physician access. Boulder Internal Medicine currently works through a waitlist for new patients.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Advanced Prevention Program (APP) is Boulder Internal Medicine's membership-based care model. It focuses on preventing disease where possible and catching early-stage disease through structured screening. Members receive a suite of imaging services, longer appointment slots, and direct physician access. The practice designs each member's care around their individual health profile.

Boulder Internal Medicine charges an annual membership fee of $2,425 per individual. The practice offers a $25 discount for on-time payment. Members may pay by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. No insurance plan reimburses the membership fee, but it may qualify for payment from a health funding account.

APP membership includes an Ultrafast Dual Source CT Heart Scan, a CT Lung Scan, a CT-BMD of the Thoracic Spine, carotid and aortic ultrasound screenings, thyroid and renal ultrasound screenings, pelvic ultrasound screening for women, and a hearing screening. These screenings allow the practice to detect conditions at their earliest and most treatable stages.

Yes. Boulder Internal Medicine works with Medicare and other insurance plans for office visits and procedures. The practice bills office visits and procedures to insurance in the standard way, and patients remain responsible for applicable co-pays and deductibles. The annual membership fee itself does not qualify for insurance reimbursement.

Yes. Adult children between ages 18 and 30 of a paying APP member receive access to medical services at no additional charge. Their coverage does not include the screening tests or imaging certificates that come with individual membership. Their health insurance remains responsible for services they receive at the practice.

The practice is not accepting new patients at this time. Boulder Internal Medicine currently works through a waitlist. Prospective patients can contact Amber, the Membership Coordinator, by phone or email for waitlist information.

The practice keeps its membership panel limited to allow meaningful time with each patient. Members receive longer appointment slots and experience shorter wait times. Physicians return telephone calls promptly, and reaching your doctor directly does not require navigating delays.

Yes. Office visits and procedures go through insurance just as they would in any medical setting. The practice collects standard co-pays and applies deductibles normally. The membership fee covers the included screening services and program benefits, not all clinical services.

The annual membership fee may qualify for payment from a health funding account, such as an HSA or FSA. The practice recommends checking with your account administrator to confirm eligibility. The fee itself does not qualify for direct insurance reimbursement.

Prospective patients should contact Amber, the practice's Membership Coordinator. She handles all waitlist inquiries and can answer questions about the Advanced Prevention Program. com.
