Apex Direct Care

Apex Direct Care charges a monthly fee based on age. Patients ages 0 to 17 pay $50 per month, patients ages 18 to 69 pay $100 per month, and patients 70 and older pay $120 per month. Family memberships cap at $300 per month. A one-time enrollment fee of $100 per adult applies, capped at $200 per family.

No. The monthly membership covers all primary care services with no co-pays or hidden fees. A small materials fee applies for certain procedures and in-office tests, such as sutures, influenza testing, and COVID testing. Outside of those materials costs, patients pay nothing extra for visits or consultations.

Yes. Members use their existing insurance as they normally would for imaging, labs, medications, emergency room visits, and hospitalizations. The monthly membership fee at Apex Direct Care sits outside of insurance billing. Carrying insurance alongside a DPC membership gives patients broader coverage for services beyond primary care.

Yes. Apex Direct Care offers same-day and next-day appointments for illness and injury. Members also have after-hours access to Dr. Berkram for urgent concerns. This level of access means patients do not have to wait days for care when something comes up.

Members can reach Dr. Berkram in person, by phone, by email, through video visits, or by messaging. This flexibility means patients can handle many questions without scheduling a formal appointment. Dr. Berkram also makes herself available after hours for urgent needs.

Yes. Dr. Berkram sees patients from birth through the end of life. The practice serves individuals and families across all age groups. Pediatric visits take place in a relaxed setting, and Dr. Berkram welcomes patients of all gender identities.

Apex Direct Care runs in-office testing for strep throat, urinalysis, pregnancy, glucose, influenza, and COVID. Dr. Berkram also performs blood draws in the office for labs sent out to external facilities. A small fee applies for influenza and COVID testing.

Apex Direct Care performs a broad range of in-office procedures, including EKGs, wart treatment, skin biopsy and lesion removal, joint injections, toenail removal, abscess drainage, ear wax removal, and laceration repair. A small materials fee applies for sutures. Most procedures fall within the standard membership at no additional cost.
