Dr. William T. Greer III grew up in Berlin, Maryland, graduating from Worcester Country School in 1976 as class Valedictorian. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Cum Laude, from the University of South Carolina and gained membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He then completed his medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. His Family Medicine residency took place at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he served as Chief Resident in his third year.
Dr. Greer has practiced medicine on the Eastern Shore since 1988, building a reputation as a skilled diagnostician and primary care expert. He helped establish Atlantic General Hospital, admitting its very first patient. He also helped form the Atlantic General Health System before returning to private practice in 2003. By 2005, his practice had grown into a membership-style model, which he has since developed into Direct Primary Care. He holds a deep passion for "slow medicine," believing that careful listening leads to faster, more accurate healing. He and his wife Bonnie live in Bishopville; their daughter Dr. Julian Greer now serves as his partner at the practice.
