About

Dr. Vera Oyabure knew she wanted to be a physician from the age of five. She grew up in Dallas, TX, completed her undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco, and earned her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine. She then completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee Family Practice Residency Program in Jackson, TN.

After residency, Dr. Oyabure worked as a hospitalist, managing complex and acute conditions in an active hospital setting. That experience deepened her conviction that proactive primary care could prevent many of those hospitalizations. She belongs to the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Hospital Medicine, the Texas Medical Association, the Houston Medical Forum, the Institute of Functional Medicine, and the American Academy of Private Physicians. In 2018, Houstonia magazine named her a Top Doctor. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Fulshear Katy Area Chamber of Commerce. Her clinical passions include preventive care, functional medicine, and women's and geriatric health. Outside of medicine, she coaches basketball, mentors youth in her community, and serves in her local church. She and her husband have two sons.
