About
Dr. Travis Groth grew up in Maryville, Tennessee, watching grandparents and family members navigate complex health challenges. That experience pointed him toward medicine around age 13 and never let go. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Maryville College in 2006, then spent a gap year on Hilton Head Island before beginning medical training. Dr. Groth entered Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee in 2007 and graduated in the inaugural class of 2011. His residency in Family Medicine followed at the Kingsport Family Medicine Residency Program in Kingsport, Tennessee. He holds board certification through the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Dr. Groth developed his passion for osteopathic medicine during his senior year of college, when a mentor introduced him to a local ENT whose ability to palpate tissues in the operating room made the philosophy click immediately. He went on to train under some of the leading osteopaths in the country at LMU-DCOM. His clinical interests include osteopathic manipulative medicine, hormone replacement therapy, and wellness coaching. He sees OMM as the art of helping each person heal through self-regulation, treating the whole individual rather than isolated symptoms. Outside medicine, Dr. Groth lives on a small farm with his wife Jennifer and their three daughters, raising cattle, chickens, and bees. Faith, family, and the outdoors remain central to who he is.
