Dr. Tony MathewsMD, MPH

Internal Medicine

at Sequoia Medical 360 — Bronxville, NY

About

Dr. Tony Mathews founded Sequoia Medical 360 to replace reactive medical events with year-round clinical governance. He holds four board certifications, in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine, and Clinical Lipidology, and completed dual fellowships in Preventive Cardiology and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He also earned a Master of Public Health, bringing a population-level lens to individual patient care.

His path into preventive medicine has a personal origin. While in medical school, he received a call that his father had suffered a heart attack. That experience sharpened his focus on the conditions that develop silently over years before any crisis appears. He later recognized early metabolic risk in his own physiology during a demanding stretch of long hours and chronic stress, and he applied the same cardiometabolic and endocrine strategy to himself that he now uses with members. Earlier in his career, Dr. Mathews served as Chief of Operations for Brooklyn College EMS, a fully volunteer ambulance service, where he learned to see the person behind every vital sign. Even earlier, his high school science team won three consecutive national awards in a NASA-sponsored competition, designing experiments that launched aboard NASA rockets. That foundation shaped his conviction that science exists to solve meaningful human problems. Today, Dr. Mathews focuses on cardiometabolic risk reduction, advanced lipidology, hormonal optimization, longevity medicine, and sarcopenia prevention, working with each member as a year-round clinical partner across Bronxville and all of New York State via telehealth.
