Dr. Todd Granger is a board-certified internist and the founder of Primus Internal Medicine in Chapel Hill, NC. A native of central Louisiana, he has called the Chapel Hill area home since 1989. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1985, then his medical doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis in 1989. He completed both his internal medicine residency and a year-long clinical research fellowship in cardiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993. He holds the Diplomate credential from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
From 1993 to 2007, Dr. Granger served on the faculty of the UNC School of Medicine as a clinical assistant professor of medicine while also practicing at Chatham Medical Specialists in Siler City. He then joined Chapel Hill Internal Medicine, where he practiced through 2014. That year, he took a sabbatical to pursue a master's degree in theological studies at Nashotah House, an historic Anglican/Episcopalian seminary in Wisconsin, a subject he has followed with passion since high school. He returned to medicine in late 2016 and opened Primus with the help of his wife and practice consultants. His clinical experience spans rural, small-town, university, and academic tertiary care settings. He treats a wide range of conditions affecting the heart, lungs, nervous system, kidneys, liver, skin, immune system, and endocrine glands, and brings deep experience in both men's and women's health. He considers knowing patients as full persons, their families, interests, and lives, integral to good care.
