About
Timothy Scharold, MD has wanted to be a physician since childhood. He spent his early years riding along on house calls with his father, who practiced medicine with deep compassion and care. His father taught him that truly listening to a patient is the most important skill a doctor can develop. When his father retired, Dr. Scharold took over the practice. Most of those patients were older adults, and he quickly discovered a genuine passion for caring for that population.
Dr. Scharold completed his residency in internal medicine at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He pursued additional board certification in geriatrics to strengthen his preparation for caring for older patients. He holds dual board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, covering both internal medicine and geriatrics. For 15 years he practiced independently, prioritizing the doctor-patient relationship above all else. He joined MDVIP to carry that same standard of attentive, personalized medicine forward. His clinical work spans geriatric care, healthy aging, chronic disease prevention, and wellness areas including nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management. He affiliates with Hilton Head Hospital. Outside the office, he enjoys music, biking, and skiing.
