Timothy Hernandez, MD, grew up in San Antonio and earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1991. He graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in 1995 and completed his Internal Medicine residency at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1998. During residency, he built the internal medicine curriculum for medical students and received the outstanding resident teacher award.
Dr. Hernandez has held numerous leadership roles across the San Antonio medical community, including Chief of Medicine at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital, Chair of the Methodist Healthcare System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and Chair of the Methodist Healthcare System COVID-19 Therapeutics Taskforce. He also served on multiple medical ethics committees and held officer positions with the Texas Club of Internal Medicine and the San Antonio Club of Internal Medicine. He joined Pasteur Medical Associates in 2021. A Clinical Professor of Medicine at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, he enjoys teaching residents and students.
