About
Stewart Greisman, MD, FACP, graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University before earning his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. His fellowship in rheumatic diseases followed at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, finishing in 1986. He holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and rheumatology.
After his fellowship, Dr. Greisman stepped into his father's established Manhattan practice and has served that patient community continuously since 1986. He trained with the ambition of becoming an academic rheumatologist, yet found that caring for the whole person defined his calling. That dual expertise gives his patients direct access to rheumatologic insight within a primary care relationship. He served as Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine/Rheumatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1987 to 2014. Since 2014, he has held an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor Medicine/Rheumatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Castle Connolly, New York Magazine, and the New York Times Magazine have each named him a Top Doctor across multiple years. He also received the Samuel D. Kushlan Award for Patient Care from Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1983. Dr. Greisman is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
